The following scholarships and grants are available to students who apply and are accepted to Simmons.

1. SIMMONS VISIONARY SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is named for Rev. Cameron Simmons in whose name the university is founded.

  • Who Can Apply
    • Masters and Doctorate Degree Candidates in any country
  • Requirements:
    • B average in prior degree program
    • 1500-word essay describing how an advanced degree would facilitate your work in the ministry
    • Recent photograph and brief biography detailing your ministry efforts at any level
  • Amount
    • This award covers full tuition.

2. FLOYD SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is named for Pauline Tate-Floyd in honor of her contribution of service and dedication to reaching out to those around her with the Gospel.

  • Who Can Apply
    • All degree candidates in any country
  • Requirements:
    • B average in prior degree program
    • 500-word essay describing how an advanced degree would facilitate your work in the ministry
    • Recent photograph and brief biography detailing your ministry efforts at any level
  • Amount
    • Typically the award covers full tuition, however, the Committee may choose to allocate partial awards which are still generally substantial.


3. HOOVER SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is named for Rev. Bobby Hoover, a pastor and missionary to Haiti.

  • Who Can Apply
    • All degree candidates in any country
  • Requirements:
    • Documented record of missionary work to include contact information from those persons/organizations where your missionary experience was carried out
    • Three letters of reference from missionary organizations with which you have worked
    • Recent photograph and brief biography/resume
  • Amount
    • Committee chooses the award level based upon number and quality of candidates.


4. RHEMA FELLOWSHIP AWARD

This Fellowship is named in honor of the founding church that ultimately led to the establishing of Simmons Bible University.

  • Who Can Apply
    • Masters and Doctorate Degree candidates in any country with a minimum of twenty years in full-time ministry experience
  • Requirements:
    • Documented record of full-time ministry in a pastoral, evangelical, or comparable capacity.
    • Three letters of reference from peers/colleagues who can attest to the integrity your ministry efforts
    • Recent photograph and Curriculum Vitae detailing past experiences and accomplishments
  • Amount
    • Typically the award covers full tuition.


5. SIMMONS GRANT

This grant is based on financial need.

  • Who Can Apply
    • All degree candidates in any country
  • Requirements:
    • Documented nature of financial need and disclosure of what resources are available.
    • 1500-word essay describing how an advanced degree would facilitate your work in the ministry
    • Recent photograph and Curriculum Vitae detailing past experiences and accomplishments
  • Amount
    • Committee chooses the award level based upon number and quality of candidates as well as grant resources available.


6. GLOBAL IMPACT GRANT

  • Who Can Apply
    • All degree candidates whose permanent residence is outside the Continental United States.
  • Requirements:
    • Proof of non-U.S. residency
    • 1500-word essay describing how an advanced degree will impact the needs of your community
    • Two letters of reference from peers/colleagues who can attest to the integrity your ministry efforts
    • Recent photograph and brief biography detailing your ministry efforts at any level
  • Amount
    • Committee chooses the award level based upon number and quality of candidates as well as grant resources available.
